Become a Mentor
By becoming a mentor, you can make a difference. You will invite your mentee(s) out preferably once a month (or depending on your schedule) on an individual or collective outing. Your role as a mentor will mainly be to open their horizons by taking them out of their township, motivating them in their studies, improving their communication skills and providing guidance. No financial contribution is required apart from the regular outings.
We hold several induction meetings each year for new mentors. You only need to attend one. Time spent by mentors may count towards the "Socio-Economic Development" pillar of your company’s BBBEE scorecard. Click below to see a video of what to expect when you attend the mentor induction training session.

Become a Tutor
Help a small group of learners (maximum 4) who need one-on-one lessons with their subjects (Math, Sciences, Accounting, Geography, History, Business Studies etc.) on Saturday afternoons (14:00-16:00) at St Mary's school in Waverley.

Learners are also tutored by our university students, who are volunteering or paid by mentors.
Participate In A Life Orientation Session or Other Activities
We run life orientation sessions and a career fair at St Mary’s where professionals present their career path to our learners. Other speakers are invited to motivate the learners, help them with personal development and various topics.

You can also help with other activities (such as our talent show, funfair, soccer tournament and events listed on the "programs" page) or suggest a new workshop (debating club, arts, games, etc) on Saturdays afternoon.
Provide Work Exposure
You can provide work exposure to our young learners. This can be a meeting, a job shadowing experience or a group visit to your factory/company. These experiences are very valuable for the learners, who generally have a limited view of the working world.
In 2024, 12 company visits were organised . Click below to see a video of the 2024 visit to one of our funders, Kasada Capital Management.

Provide Internship Or Job Placements
Some students are required to secure a six-month ‘in-service training’ at a company to complete their studies.
Our graduates also need help with internships and job placements. Over the years, thanks to our network of companies, some were hired by our funders and partners, like Bombela Operating Company, Paymentology, Career wise, AF Compressors, Laluka Safari Lodge, Natondi Tours, Extralingual. Internships were provided by the Belgium and the French Chambers of Commerce and Forgood.
Donate
Whether you are an individual or a company, you can sponsor our activities by providing bursaries and donations; but also used laptops/desktops, calculators and smartphones.
Students bursaries may be included in your company’s BBBEE scorecard (under Skills Development) as well as donations, as Sizanani has a level 1 BBBEE certificate.
